The Innocence Project is a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.
In December 2005, Rusty Phillips applied to The Innocence Project at West Virginia University for a review of his case. In February 2007, he received a letter advising that they were looking at it to determine if they would accept it. As of this writing, that determination has not been made.
